Automotive Technology - This course offers instruction into the field of automobile mechanics. Students learn the fundamentals of Brake Systems, Engine Performance, Electrical Systems, and Engine Repair. Students receive both supervised shop training as well as classroom instructions preparing them for automotive jobs. Business Education - This program aids students in becoming more skillful in the business world. Students have the chance to learn accounting, business law, word processing, keyboarding, management, business math, and entrepreneurship. Students experience what it takes to run a successful business. Collision Repair - This program prepares the student for entry-level employment into the auto body profession. The program combines both supervised shop activities as well as classroom instruction. Diversified Cooperative Training - This program consists of a cooperative arrangement between the school and the local employers in providing specialized training. It also develops a training position individually tailored to meet each student's needs.Introduction to Engineering Class Intro to Eng. - This class covers all phases of drafting fundamentals in the mechanical, architectural, and electrical fields. Students learn both traditional free-hand drafting and state-of-the-art Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) system. Electrical Technology - This program enables students to explore and obtain a good career in electricity as an electrician or technician. It is also a springboard to post graduate training. Students completing the course are eligible to take the WV Journeyman Electrician Exam. Health Occupations - This program provides an opportunity for students to build a solid academic foundation integrated with technical knowledge and experience that will enable them to continue learning, specializing, and advancing in the field. Also the School of Practical Nursing demonstrates an active partnership with the community of Elkins. Mill and Cabinet -This program prepares students for entry-level employment in a segment of the wood industry. Integrated in this curriculum is the opportunity to study a higher level of instruction in the area of Microcomputer Applications and Design. Mill and Cabinet students have completed projects such as building a replica of an 1873-covered bridge for the Beverly Historical Society.Pro Start at Work Pro Start - This program introduces students to careers in food service and teaches them basic skills and knowledge they need for success in the industry. On-the-job training and experience, coupled with dynamic and comprehensive curriculum, fuel the program. Power Equipment Systems - In this program particular emphasis is placed on repair of all small engines and motorcycles. Including complete rebuilds and overhauls as well as service and repair of recreational vehicles, lawn and garden machinery and chain saws. Masonry-The masonry program is designed to meet the needs of all training in masonry construction. You will receive "hands-on" experience in brick, stone, block, ceramic tile, andBuilding Construction, Building concrete construction. Building Construction- This program provides instruction in the skills required by carpenters and masons for the construction of residential and light-frame commercial buildings.
